Everything about merging Tom Ka Gai soup and a Smoothie sounds wrong… … but you really want to – don’t you? Don’t worry there is no boiled galangal in here, we’re just going to borrow some of the other main ingredients to make a hot and sour coconutty concoction!

Ingredients

1/2 can Creamed Coconut

1/2 can Coconut Water

1 Fairtrade Lime

1 Fairtrade Banana

Cinnamon powder to taste

Chilli powder to taste

Instructions

Add coconut products to smoothie maker along with the banana.

Squeeze the lime juice into the smoothie maker (watch out for the pips).

SMOOTH!!!

Add chilli and cinnamon to taste (take it easy at first)

SMOOTH!!!

Pour into a short glass

Add decorative chilli or cinnamon – or why not shave some lemongrass onto the top?

This smoothie is a good compliment to a desert after a Thai meal or to go with anything spicy as it will cool your taste buds despite the chilli!

Over 18?

Try adding some Fairtrade Spiced Rum

This super sharp breakfast smoothie that will be sure to wake you up in the morning is dangerous if not handled with care!

This super sharp breakfast smoothie that will be sure to wake you up in the morning is dangerous if not handled with care!

You will need:

2 kiwi fruit

1 grapefruit + 1 blood grapefruit

250g natural bio yoghurt

2 handfulls ice cubes

Quarter the kiwis and limes. Peel the grapefruits. Pour the yoghurt into the Smoothie Maker. Put the rest of the fruit into the Smoothie Maker along with the ice cubes. Mix it all up to smoothie consistency, this should take about 30 seconds. Turn the Smoothie Maker on to help ease out the smoothie as you pour it into a glass.

This fruit smoothie is super tangy, and if you’re not a fan of citrus fruits this may not be the smoothie for you. You could try mixing and matching the fruits about, for example adding some melon instead of the grapefruit to make it less of a citrus smoothie.
