This smoothie takes it’s inspiration from a friend’s recipe which he uses to keep him fueled full of energy for his long days at work and time in the gym!

What you will need

3 tablespoons of Fairtrade peanut butter (smooth not chunky!)

1 Fairtrade banana

2 scoops of frozen yoghurt

200ml skimmed milk

Instructions

All in the smoothie maker and hit go!

Optional Extras

If you want you can add some banana flavour whey protein or even some oats to this just like Barmy Varney does to keep your body in shape and keep you fuller for longer!

Smoothie that can influence monarchs? I’m not so sure, but it certainly is a bit fruity!

Ingredients

2 Peaches

4 handfuls of raspberries

2 scoops Fairtrade Frozen Yoghurt (or natural Greek Yoghurt and 2 handfuls of ice)

Recipe

This one isn’t rocket science – all ingredients into the smoothie maker and hit go!

Possibilities

You may want to use a flavored yoghurt instead of straight forward unflavored Greek!

Want to be even more fair? Use Fairtrade Apple and Raspberry Juice instead of (or as well as!) the fruit.

1 Fairtrade Vanilla Pod

3 Fairtrade Bananas

2 or 3 handfuls of ice

2 pots of Fairtrade greek style yoghurt, from co-op

4 teaspoons of fairtrade sugar dissolved in a small amount of water

Slit vanilla pod lengthways and scrape out seeds, add bananas to smoothie maker follwed by yoghurt, sugar/water, vanilla seeds and then the ice. This is far better than any milkshke made with vanilla extract or essence etc. Fairtrade bananas and vanilla pods are top quality.

You will need:

2 kiwi fruit

1 grapefruit + 1 blood grapefruit

250g natural bio yoghurt

2 handfulls ice cubes

Quarter the kiwis and limes. Peel the grapefruits. Pour the yoghurt into the Smoothie Maker. Put the rest of the fruit into the Smoothie Maker along with the ice cubes. Mix it all up to smoothie consistency, this should take about 30 seconds. Turn the Smoothie Maker on to help ease out the smoothie as you pour it into a glass.

This fruit smoothie is super tangy, and if you’re not a fan of citrus fruits this may not be the smoothie for you. You could try mixing and matching the fruits about, for example adding some melon instead of the grapefruit to make it less of a citrus smoothie.
